Is Rydealog free?

Free to download. Booking shifts, live hours and miles, shift history, weekly invoices and 5 Delivery Tip searches stay free. Pro is £6.99 a month or £59.99 a year, and unlocks unlimited Delivery Tips, Mileage Pay Check, tax and mileage exports, earnings and costs, and van check and POD history.

Can Rydealog do my weekly invoice?

Yes, for free. Set your day rate, hourly or per-mile pay once, and each week's invoice is drafted from the shifts you tracked. Add extras or deductions, then email the PDF from the app or download it. Invoices stay on your phone, not on our servers. How invoicing works.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Leave your email and I'll tell you the day it's on Google Play. Tick “I'd test it early” if you want a closed-test invite when that's ready.

Will my courier company see what I log?

No. Rydealog is independent and not linked to any courier company. Private access notes and gate codes stay on your phone. They are never uploaded, and community tips never include them.

Does it drain my battery?

GPS only runs while a shift is active, and only if you're logging miles. It uses low-accuracy updates when you've moved about 50 metres, not a constant high-precision fix. Looking up a stop reuses a recent cached location when it can, so the GPS radio stays off. Tracking stops when you end the shift. Background location is used during an active shift so miles keep logging if you switch apps.

Which drivers is it for?

Self-employed UK multi-drop drivers, Flex, and owner-drivers. If you run your own round, it's for you — not a depot dispatcher.

What do I actually get when I scan an area?

Rydealog surfaces practical details that may help at difficult stops: which entrance, where to park, where to hand over. Conditions change, so always check signs and on-site instructions.

Do I have to remember to start the app every single shift?

Rydealog can use a change in your selected van's Bluetooth connection to prompt you to start or stop tracking. You remain in control and should review the recorded time and mileage for completeness.

Will the parking timer prevent me from getting tickets?

The parking timer can request an alert before the time you set expires. Notification delivery depends on permission and device settings, so check local restrictions and do not rely on the alert as your only reminder.

Why should I log my van checks and PODs in the app?

Rydealog organises van checks and delivery photos with available time, date and optional location information. These records can help you find what you captured, but they do not guarantee acceptance by a depot, employer, insurer, customer, court or authority.

100% tax-deductible for eligible business use

Use Rydealog wholly and exclusively for your self-employed delivery business? You may be able to claim 100% of the subscription as an allowable software expense. This reduces taxable profit rather than refunding the full price. Eligibility depends on your circumstances and accounting method; check current HMRC guidance or ask a tax professional.
